Ingredients:
For homemade Teriyaki sauce:
1 tbsp rice vinegar
2 tbsp lightbrown sugar
2 tsp Sesame oil
75cl soy sauce
X grams fresh ginger
1 (small) clove of garlic
2 tbsp cornstarch (optional) 50 ml water
For the dish:
Basmati rice
Broccoli
Chicken
Teriyaki sauce
Sesame seeds
Oil (of choice)
Spring onions
2 cloves of Garlic
3grams Ginger
Vegetable boullion (the seasoning)
Chicken boullion (the seasoning)
salt and pepper
Directions:
Step 1 Start by cutting your chicken. For this particular dish I personally prefer long semi thin slices. About 5cm long and 2cm wide. But any shape will do as long as they are not too big.
Step 2 Marinade the chicken with xml of your teriyaki sauce, you can either use store-bought sauce or my recipe for home made teriyaki sauce. (Instructions for my homemade teriyaki sauce are below) marinade the chicken in the fridge for at least 30 minutes. The longer the better.
Step 3 Wash your rice with cold water. Keep washing until the water runs clear (about 4-5 times.)
When its washed, cook your rice in vegetable stock.
Step 4 While your rice is cooking cut your spring onion in slices and separate the greens from the whites.
Next cut your garlic and ginger as small as possible.
Step 5 Heat up some oil (of your choice) fry the whites of the spring onions, the garlic and ginger until the onions are golden brown.
Then throw in your chicken and cook it all together. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Step 6 While your chicken is cooking, add a pot of water to a boil with vegetable stock and cook your broccoli for about 10 minutes. Your broccoli is good when you can poke it through with a fork.
Step 7 If your chicken is cooked, add the rest of your teriyaki sauce and the sesame seeds. Simmer this for 2 more minutes.
Step 8 Ready to plate! Start with your rice, add the chicken teriyaki on top and the broccoli on the side. Finish it off with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and garnish with the greens of your spring onion. Time for you and/or others to enjoy this delicious meal.

Directions Teriyaki sauce:
Heat up the oil and add your wet ingredients. Whisk this together.
Grind your ginger and garlic to a paste and add this. When everything is well combined your sauce is done!
OPTIONAL: Some prefer a thicker consistency, to achieve this you can mix 2 tablespoons of cornstarch with a little bit of water and add this to your mixture.
Have fun baking!
